Cross country

During the cross country trials, the best part for me was running around the MUGA repeatedly. Being my first time ever doing the trials, the opportunity was great. However, it was quite hard to get in to the team. I gave it a 10/10 and will make sure I will do it again; also it can give lots of children interest in exercise.

Tennis Trials

During the David Lloyd tennis trials, we learnt different ways to hit the ball to each other and play tennis. I really enjoyed doing it and it was a great experience . It was so much fun that I would definitely do it again. One of the exercises I enjoyed was when we were in pairs and would throw the ball to each other.

Freddy Fit

During Freddy Fit, we did different exercises to see how fast our heart rate was going. My favourite part was when we were dancing to Gangnam style. We were using hula-hoops to see how many times we could do it in 1minute. it was great fun and I would love to do it again.

Thursday, 10 March 2016

On the 24th November 2015, 16 children (boys & girls) participated in the Table Tennis tournament at St. Mary's Leisure Centre, Southampton. The players were divided into 4 teams: Springhill A; Springhill B; Springhill C and a Springhill Girl team. I was taking part in the competition and this is what happened...

First of all, we left the school at 1:45 pm and our second adult (including Mr Cowap) was Ziraq (a student in Southampton Solent University) Soon, the minibus began to leave the school. When we arrived, I was feeling excited about the matches I was going to play. I was determined to play just when I saw the table, but the others got there first! A while later, the lady (who told us what to do) explained which table we should play in (Table 1/ Table 2) and since I was in Springhill C, I had to do my matches on Table 2. I was chosen as Player 4 (out of four) It was in only a few minutes away from my first match!

England Train at Twickenham

On Friday 19th January 2016, 14 children went to Twickenham, which is in London, to witness England Rugby Squad train before the 6 Nations. There are 6 teams in the 6 Nations: England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, France and Italy. There was 45 minutes of training. There were four drills. One of the drills was passing and another drill was throwing and catching. There are 23 players in the England rugby squad . Dylan Hartley is the captain. George Ford sprained his ankle  after 20 minutes.  He still took part in the training afterwards though.    Eddie Jones is the coach of the England rugby team. The mascot is a giant bulldog (the size of a man). All 14 children said they would love to go again.
